The idea for the logo came while fishing outside Bishop with a particularly clean view of the Sierra Nevada Crest that ran along Mt. Tom and Basin Mountain and in my humble opinion looks like the dorsal fins of a largemouth bass.
When it came to the original idea of creating a logo for ESBF I needed a broadside image of a largemouth and I had just the bass in mind.
I caught "The Logo" in May 2017 while fishing a canal just outside of Bishop, Ca. The photo itself was always a favorite because "in my point of view" was a perfectly symmetrical largemouth bass that embodied the image of the Eastern Sierra "Football."
So it came to be that the Sierra Fish was imagined and the design concept moved into the finishing stages.
What followed was a back and forth design concept with Maggie Sage Design: www.msagedesign.com/ to realize the initial idea as well as the immense support from https://www.jennwhitney.com/ to get the whole concept off the ground on into print. From there I worked with @ocfreshprinting to get the design onto apparel and into the market.
